The Muswell Hill Child Contact Centre is based at Muswell Hill Methodist Church in North London.

The Muswell Hill Child Contact Centre offers supported contact – i.e. it is suitable for families where no significant risk to the child or those around the child is identifiable. Please note that we do not offer supervised contact. The Child Contact Centre opens on alternate  Saturdays between 10.00am and 1:00pm. Please check our News page for changes to contact session dates or times.

Visits are arranged by referral, for which a fee of £20 is required. The Contact Centre facilities are provided by the Church and we hope that families will feel able to make regular donations to support the costs of heating and general upkeep. However no family will be refused because of an inability to do so. The referral can be made by a social worker, solicitor, family mediator, or CAFCASS officer, or you can self refer, in which case, both parties will be required to complete an application form. After completion of the form it should be returned to  the Centre Co-ordinator at contact.centre@mhmc.org.uk

Both parents are required to attend the Centre for separate pre-visits (the non-resident parent by themselves and the resident parent with the children).

What you can expect from us:

  • Impartiality
  • Staff and volunteers are available for assistance but there is no close
    observation, monitoring or evaluation of individual contacts/conversation.
  • Several families will be together in rooms used at Muswell Hill Contact Centre
  • Encouragement for families to develop mutual trust.
  • Reports of contact sessions are not made unless a child or vulnerable adult protection issue is seen or reported to volunteers.

Although there needs to be at least one parent with the children at all times, volunteers can help with the handover if adults do not wish to see one another at contact sessions.

Tea, coffee, squash drinks, sweets and snacks are available for which we welcome donations.

The Muswell Hill Contact Centre has achieved accreditation from the National Association of Child Contact Centres. NACCC Membership No. 062/4
